A legal disclaimer

The explanations and information provided in this Privacy Policy are intended to offer a general overview of how Emergent Learning Press collects, uses, manages, and protects the information of website visitors and users of the OMNIA Skill and Behavior Assessment. While we are committed to maintaining high standards of privacy and transparency, this policy is not intended to serve as legal advice. Because privacy laws may vary depending on your location and situation, we recommend consulting with legal professionals to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and international regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, FERPA, and GDPR where applicable.

Privacy Policy Overview

At Emergent Learning Press, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website or use the OMNIA Skill and Behavior Assessment tool.

This policy is designed to inform you of:

  • What types of data we collect and, importantly, what we do not collect or store

  • How we collect and use that data

  • The measures we take to protect your information

  • Your rights and choices regarding your personal information

We are committed to using the data we collect responsibly and to ensuring that all information is handled in accordance with relevant privacy laws.

About the OMNIA Assessment Tool

The OMNIA Skill and Behavior Assessment is a web-based scoring tool designed for use by qualified professionals such as Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), educators, and clinical supervisors. The tool facilitates structured behavioral assessment and generates downloadable PDF reports.

The OMNIA assessment is designed with a zero data retention model. All assessment scoring occurs entirely within your web browser. No learner names, assessment responses, or individually identifiable assessment data are transmitted to or stored on our servers. PDF reports are generated on demand and streamed directly to your device without being saved on our systems.

Information We Collect

Information We Do NOT Collect or Store

  • Assessment responses and scores. All assessment data you enter remains in your browser session and is not stored on our servers.

  • Learner names or identifying information. Any learner identifiers entered during an assessment remain local to your device.

  • Generated PDF reports. Reports are streamed directly to your browser and are not retained on our servers.

  • User accounts or login credentials. The OMNIA assessment does not require account creation or authentication.

Information We DO Collect

Anonymous Usage Analytics

To improve the assessment tool and understand general usage patterns, we collect limited, anonymized analytics data, including:

  • The type of event performed (e.g., assessment started, report generated)

  • Page path visited

  • Browser type and general device information (user agent)

  • Referring website

  • Number of assessment sections completed

IP addresses are cryptographically hashed and truncated before storage. We cannot reverse these hashes to identify individual users. All analytics data is automatically deleted after 90 days.

Website Visitor Information

When you visit our website or interact with our non-assessment pages, we may collect:

  • Name, email address, and contact information you voluntarily provide

  • Information submitted through inquiry or contact forms

  • Browser type, device information, and general usage data

  • Information collected via cookies or similar tracking technologies

How We Use Your Information

Anonymous analytics data is used solely to:

  • Understand general usage patterns of the assessment tool

  • Improve the functionality and user experience of the tool

  • Monitor system performance and reliability

Voluntarily provided contact information is used to:

  • Respond to service inquiries or requests

  • Provide information about Emergent Learning Press products and services

  • Send updates or materials (with your consent)

We do not use analytics data or any other collected information to identify, profile, or track individual users or the learners they assess.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information. Information may be shared only under the following limited circumstances:

  • With authorized Emergent Learning Press staff for operational purposes

  • With third-party service providers assisting in website hosting and infrastructure under confidentiality agreements (e.g., cloud hosting providers)

  • If required by law or regulation

  • With your explicit consent

Because assessment data never reaches our servers, there is no learner data for us to share, disclose, or breach.

Data Protection and Security

We take data security seriously. Our approach centers on minimizing data collection and exposure:

  • Client-side processing. Assessment data is processed entirely in your browser, meaning sensitive information is never transmitted to our servers.

  • Encryption in transit. All communications between your browser and our servers are encrypted.

  • Automatic data expiration. The limited anonymous analytics data we do collect is automatically purged after 90 days.

  • Industry-standard safeguards. We maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the data we do handle.

While we strive to protect your data, no digital transmission or storage system can be guaranteed 100% secure. We encourage assessors to follow their organization's data handling policies when managing downloaded PDF reports on their own devices.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies to understand usage patterns and improve your experience. These may include:

  • Essential cookies required for basic website functionality

  • Analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors interact with the site

You may disable cookies through your browser settings, although some features may not function properly without them. The OMNIA assessment tool itself does not rely on cookies to function.

Your Rights and Choices

You may have the right to:

  • Access or correct personal information we hold about you

  • Request deletion of your voluntarily provided data

  • Opt out of marketing communications

  • Withdraw previously given consent

Because the OMNIA assessment does not store learner data or assessment results on our servers, there is no assessment data for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. Assessors are responsible for managing any PDF reports they download to their own devices.

To exercise your rights regarding any voluntarily provided information, contact us at info@emergentlearningpress.com.

Children's Privacy

The OMNIA assessment is a professional tool intended for use by qualified adults (assessors, clinicians, educators). It is not directed at children and does not collect information directly from children.

When an assessor enters information about a learner who is a minor, that information remains entirely within the assessor's browser and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Assessors are responsible for complying with their organization's policies and applicable laws (including COPPA and FERPA) regarding the handling of information about minors.

Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the site and assessment tool after any changes implies acceptance of the revised terms.
